Sculpture in Progress
This is a sculpture in progress.

It is constructed with 

wood for the boat, 

apoxy and wire for the sails, 

and 

a plaster called hydrostone for the book.

The plan is to carve a few more details in the book, 

and 

perhaps stain part of the book, 

then polish to look like granite.

Representational / Abstract Carving in Hydro-stone

- white areas were sanded and polished -

 - black areas were textured and painted with acrylic  - 

( stands approximately 9 inches high )

White shapes within shadow area could appear to 

resemble seals and or a walrus

( better photos may be coming soon...)

monday with friends

Had a great time at the movies last night with some friends; Abe + Andrew + Ashley + Charles.
We watched Salt, it was action packed with plenty of twists.  Everyone thought it was good.   Hanging out after the show was fun.  Not bad for a Monday.
